Monodromy of Dual Invertible Polynomials
A generalization of Arnold’s strange duality to invertible polynomials in three variables by the first author and A. Takahashi includes the following relation. For some invertible polynomials f the Saito dual of the reduced monodromy zeta function of f coincides with a formal “root” of the reduced monodromy zeta function of its Berglund– Hübsch transpose f . Here we give a geometric interpretat...
متن کاملOrbifold Euler Characteristics for Dual Invertible Polynomials
To construct mirror symmetric Landau–Ginzburg models, P. Berglund, T. Hübsch and M. Henningson considered a pair (f, G) consisting of an invertible polynomial f and an abelian group G of its symmetries together with a dual pair (f̃ , G̃). Here we study the reduced orbifold Euler characteristics of the Milnor fibers of f and f̃ with the actions of the groups G and G̃ respectively and show that they ...
متن کاملA Variant of NTRU with Non-invertible Polynomials
Abstract. We introduce a generalization of the NTRU cryptosystem and describe its advantages and disadvantages as compared with the original NTRU protocol. This extension helps to avoid the potential problem of finding “enough” invertible polynomials within very thin sets of polynomials, as in the original version of NTRU. This generalization also exhibits certain attractive “pseudorandomness” ...
متن کاملFactorizations of Invertible Operators and K-theory of C-algebras
Let A be a unital C*-algebra. We describe K-skeleton factorizations of all invertible operators on a Hilbert C*-module HA, in particular on H = l 2, with the Fredholm index as an invariant. We then outline the isomorphisms K0(A) ∼= π2k([p]0) ∼= π2k(GL p r(A)) and K1(A) ∼= π2k+1([p]0) ∼= π2k+1(GL p r(A)) for k ≥ 0, where [p]0 denotes the class of all compact perturbations of a projection p in th...
متن کاملThe (1/k)-Eulerian Polynomials
We use the theory of lecture hall partitions to de ne a generalization of the Eulerian polynomials, for each positive integer k. We show that these 1=k-Eulerian polynomials have a simple combinatorial interpretation in terms of a single statistic on generalized inversion sequences. The theory provides a geometric realization of the polynomials as the h -polynomials of k-lecture hall polytopes. ...
